A 2018 graduate of the University of Maryland’s Merrill College of Journalism, Julia Karron was the co-host of the Washington Bullpen podcast for the Washington bureau of Capital News Service. Julia, who grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, works in the sports department at The Washington Post and has previously interned with Slate’s sports podcast “Hang Up and Listen” and ESPN’s “Around the Horn” program. While this is Julia’s first trip to the Middle East, she has also visited Zambia, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

A native of New York, Joseph Malandruccolo graduated from the University of Maryland’s Merrill College of Journalism in 2018. He has previously served as an intern for D.C. United of the MLS, where he shot practice and game action for the team and produced videos for the team’s website and social media platforms. He was a reporter and video producer for Maryland’s Capital News Service.

Chloe Pavlech, a Cincinnati native, graduated in 2016 from the Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, where she also played on the women’s basketball team. With plans for a career in broadcasting, she is pursuing her master’s degree in Sport Management at the University of Connecticut, where she is a graduate assistant for its women’s basketball team.
